Artur's Voice (Chapter 10). The 4 Great Controversies in Science.
Geology. Earth's Expansion.

In these 4 videos, from Chapters 10 to 13 of Artur's Voice, I'm going to discuss what I consider to have historically been the main controversy in each of the four sciences.

In this chapter, I discuss the main controversy in geology, which is the Theory of Earth's Expansion.

The theory of plate tectonics, developed in the 1960s, considered that some plates expand the Earth and others compress it (subduction). This ultimately produces a constant radius for the Earth. But empirical evidence of subduction, particularly in the Nazca Plate, has never been verified.

The first to propose subduction was geologist Samuel Warren Carey, but ironically, only two years later, he abandoned it, considering it nonsense. However, in order to maintain the Earth's constant radius, subduction has continued over time.

The interesting thing about this theory, so forgotten today, is that it was after the development and study of neutrinos that, at the end of the last century, German physicist Konstantin Meyl linked this expansion with the neutrino flux in the universe. He found evidence demonstrating the correlation between earthquakes and solar eclipses, particularly during the earthquakes that hit Turkey days after the eclipse that swept through Central Europe in August 1999. Throughout history, there are many references to this fact and to the traditionally bad omen that solar eclipses had carried.

But the significance of the idea of Earth's expansion is that it gives us a possible explanation for the enormous energy within our planet's interior, on the one hand, and provides another small but important piece of evidence about our planet's interconnectedness with the universe, on the other. Indeed, our planet is not isolated and affected only by gravity; there are other "invisible forces" and subtle energies that are constantly affecting it.

The images are from the Arte TV documentary "Turning the World on It's Head" about research into Earth's expansion, starring Meyl.
