How to replace laptop internal speakers
If your laptop speakers are blown or not working, follow these instructions to replace them
This is specific to HP Pavilion G6 2007tx and the method will vary for different laptops
Download the manual for your specific laptop from the manufacturer's website. You need to search using the model number of your laptop
In the manual read the speaker disassembly instructions. You will also see a image of how your laptop speakers look like and you will also find a part number
To confirm and visualise, open the laptop till the speaker disassembly by following the instructions in your manual.
Then you can order the exact speakers online. Either search by model number of your laptop or part number
Once you have the replacement, follow the instructions in your manual to replace the speakers
Step 1: Remove battery
Step 2: Remove Back Cover (1 captive screw)
Step 3: Remove HDD
Step 4: Remove DVD drive - 1 small screw and then slide out
Step 5: Remove 8 screws (9 in the back) {one screw already removed for the DVD drive) + 2 small screws (where HDD was)
Step 6: Remove Keyboard. Open the laptop like the way you look at it and in the back, press on the metal part of the back of the keyboard (Do not press on the black part as that is the keyboard which is visible from the back. If you do, a key make break and pop out). The keyboard may pop out but sometimes not fully, no matter how much pressure you put. So to be careful, pry the keyboard from the front (It is much safer and easier) like shown. Remove keyboard connection to the computer
Step 7: Remove the three attachments. And then remove the 5 screws + 1 screw = 6 screws. Pry or use your fingers to lift the top cover
Step 8: The speakers are located on the top cover. Remove the small screw as shown. Slide the left side of the speaker out as shown (check your manual) and you can lift the right side
Replace the speakers as shown. Put the wire in the grooves as shown
Put the computer back in reverse order.
