Having A Chat On The Ben Shapiro Show
Hello Family! I hope everyone is enjoying their extended holiday 😊
So I did a thing with my friend Ben Shapiro and I wanted to share it with you during this American Independence Day. This holiday is my favorite time because it sincerely represents what America is all about. Every one of our families came here at some point in history. My ancestry goes back to The Mayflower. When my ancestor Myles Standish made his way as Naval Captain to Plymouth, he came with Independence on his mind. Myles and the other immigrants friended the Native Indians and with their help, learned to survive the winter. If it wasn’t for the will of the Natives to work alongside these refugees, then ultimately there would be nothing but division. At that moment, The Natives and The Immigrants embraced the similarities and put aside their differences. They worked together.
In my interview with Shapiro, we discuss my opportunity to sing The National Anthem at a soccer event with a predominantly Latin American crowd. As I sang, I noticed that they were singing along with me! 🎶
A sea of 40,000 people and Bonn E Maiy - all celebrating our shot at The American Dream together. That common ground is what makes America a special place. We come from near and far to lift each other up and live our best lives under freedom.
Ben also asked me about what my new release “The Future is Classic” means. In a few words, it means: some things never get old.
Like hugging your parents, like talking face to face with my truck-driving grandfather on an 18-hour road trip, like experiencing the ocean and stopping to smell the flowers in the forest, or like simply sitting at the dining table for supper with the family.
I have a song on the new album called “Money Don’t Matter.” One of the lines in the record says “This glass shield it’s a hell of a thing...brings us together no late night flings” - I’m referring to technology.
We are grateful to interact with each other thanks to technology, but there is nothing better than the feeling of meeting each one of you at my shows! Seeing your faces and singing with you is what this journey is all about! In that way, the Future is indeed Classic!
