I always say that art is in my genes because my grandfather was an artist. I wish I could show some of his works here, but unfortunately, they are not available to me. He was an extraordinarily talented artist. Not only that, he also taught English literature in school. Now, maybe you can understand the passion behind my writing and drawing! He passed away in 2009, two years before my father's passing. I was really young to recognize the significance of his artistic talent while he was alive. Although I started drawing at a very young age (most likely at the age of two), I took a long break. I stopped drawing completely at the age of thirteen and didn’t pick up a pencil again until the COVID-19 pandemic when my university was closed. During that time, I was trying to cope with grief, anxiety, and trauma. When I resumed drawing, neither my grandfather nor my father was there to critique, discuss, or appreciate my work, which is now my lifelong sorrow. So, I guess this video is my way of paying tribute to my grandfather’s work. His legacy didn’t die; I will continue with my passion and his legacy, no matter how small its significance may be.
