This is what happens when you run a engine with no coolant and then when it burns up all the oil. This engine was from a 1999 VW Beetle and it was overheated to the point where the internal plastic cover pieces started melting and then the liquid plastic dropped to the oil pan while plugging up the oil passages and oil pick up tube. The pistons ended up getting so damaged that the entire block was basically not rebuildable any longer and was only good for scrap. The first part of the vide show the top and water pump area. The second part shows the bottom end of the engine with the oil pan removed and the ending shows the pistons removed and how damaged they were. This engine was basically toasted.
