This session will present the process of discovering hidden vulnerabilities to extreme heat in the context of a changing climate. Through the use of health outcome mapping compared to energy assistance, the YouthMappers team at ASU has revealed a pattern of disproportionate deaths by housing type, particularly in mobile homes. To address this issue, innovative tagging was implemented. My particular focus is on linking heat as a health hazard through housing systems. The proposed session will showcase the significance of OSM in identifying latent vulnerabilities within the community. The session will contribute to the broader discourse on the role of mapping and technology in addressing critical public health challenges.
