Did you know that in plasma arc welding (PAW), the plasma gas isn't just hot; it's VERY fast! As the plasma exits the torch’s nozzle, it reaches a speed that’s nearly equal to that of sound (Mah 1). The combination of both heat and speed allow the plasma to melt most materials, including aluminium, copper, all kind of steel, brass, iron and more.
PAW allows to weld thicknesses from 2 to 8mm (#StainlessSteel, #Duplexsteel, #Superduplex, carbon steel) in one pass at speed from 200 to 500mm/min (depending on the thickness).
The arc is sharply constricted by a cooled gas nozzle through which a flow of plasma gas is directed.
