Firefox has officially introduced a native Tab Groups feature, now available to all users starting with Firefox version 138, released on April 29, 2025 .
This long-requested functionality allows users to organize open tabs into customizable groups, enhancing productivity and reducing clutter.

Create and Customize Groups: You can create tab groups by dragging one tab onto another or by right-clicking a tab and selecting “Add Tab to New Group.” Each group can be named and color-coded for easy identification.

Persistent Sessions: Tab groups are saved automatically, so you can close and reopen them later from the “List all tabs” menu.

🧪 Availability and Rollout
The Tab Groups feature was initially introduced in Firefox 137 as part of a progressive rollout . With the release of Firefox 138, it is now available to all users. If you don't see the feature yet, ensure your browser is updated to the latest version.
🧭 How to Use Tab Groups
Creating a Tab Group:
Drag a tab onto another tab until a highlighted area appears, then release to create a group.
Alternatively, right-click a tab and select “Add Tab to New Group.”
Managing Tabs Within Groups:
To add a tab to an existing group, drag it into the group or right-click the tab and choose “Add Tab to Group.”
To remove a tab from a group, drag it out of the group or right-click the tab and select “Remove from Group.”
Managing Tab Groups:
Right-click the group label to rename it, change its color, add new tabs, move the group to a new window, or save and close the group for later use.
