The easiest witch farm! 6200 redstone/h, 90min build. "Git gud in Technical Minecraft", Java 1.21+
I'm starting the second part of my "git gud" series where I present a very simple witch (=redstone) farm that does not use looting. The rates are still pretty good at ~6200 redstone dust/h (opposed to 8000/h for a looting setup) or 690 redstone blocks/h, and the build time in vanilla survival was exactly 92 minutes including material gathering/crafting, lighting up the area and building the storage.
The farm will also give about 300/h each of glowstone, spider eyes, glass bottles, gunpowder and sugar, and about 600 sticks/h.
The farm works in lower versions, but redstone output will be a lot lower and you'll have to replace the crafter.
In this "git gud" series I started from scratch and chose farms and builds that are reasonably simple to build and accessible for players even if they don't have extensive experience with complex redstone, but still give good rates and won't have to be replaced with faster farms later.
Unlike the 24h challenge I won't set myself a time limit, but I will measure the time I need for each build including the gathering and crafting of the materials required, so that you know exactly how much effort each farm is. Of course I'll play in the world that I started for the 24h challenge and use only the farms that I have built there.
