Creative Play- Monster Invasion Illustration
This video walls you through a simple monster illustration.
Initially we look at pictures of tentacles from Monster Invation in Manchester. Then we consider the shape of a tentacle and the arrangement of the suction cups. This then leads to a drawing.
We cut out drawn elements and make a collage, exploring composition. I use an edited photo of Manchester to create a skyline bit you could draw one.
I refine the drawing with pen and add some characterful eyes as a late modification.
It is a simple way to explore composition and create an image and add text in a comic book/ graphic novel style.
