Marine Seismic - Evolution and Revolution
This film was an invited talk for the Image21 meeting (joint SEG/AAPG annual meeting) held in Denver in September, 2021. The special session was in celebration of 100 years of seismic -- the 100th anniversary of the first reflection seismic surveys conducted by J. Clarence Karcher and colleagues in Oklahoma in 1921. The session was the brainchild of Oz Yilmaz who had the concept that the older generation would pass on wisdom to the younger, a very ambitious task. My topic was "the Marine Seismic story" which was supposed to no more than 10 minutes. I decided that a movie would be better than a bunch of technical bullet point slides so here it is.
