The rule of Saint Benedict was created by Benedict of Nursia in the sixth century and expanded during the medieval period.
This copy was printed in 1499 at the Abbey of Montserrat by Joan Lushner. The abbey publishing house is still active today.
The Monastery was founded in 1025 by Abbot Oliva and is currently a symbol of Catalonia.
