Guitar Pro 6 Stylesheet - Page & Score format tab
Introduction
This is the first video of my power user series for Guitar Pro 6 software. In this video I will go over each part of the Page & Score format tab in the Stylesheet. Follow along by setting up this video and Guitar Pro 6 side by side. Stop and repeat the video as often as needed. Let's get started.
Opening the stylesheet
Go to File then Stylesheet. Notice the shortcut is F7 which I'll use for efficiency.
Page & Score format
The Page & Score format has a lot of options for you to customize a score.
In the Page group you can choose a preset page size or make your own settings. The drop down has plenty of options to get you started. I'll change the size to different presets so you can see the results. Now I'll set the score back to the default of A4.
In the Page group you can also select whether to have the score to Portrait of Landscape.
In the Margins group you can set the margins for the top, bottom left and right sides of the score. Here I'll change all the margins to 10 to see the result. Here is what the result of putting 0 in for all the margins.
In the Tuning group, you can choose whether to hide or show the tuning in the score. I'll choose to show the tuning before the tablature in the score. Now I'll change it to show the tuning at the beginning of the score. These options are set to show the tuning at the beginning of the score showing the name only. This time I'll show the tuning at the beginning of the score showing the name and notes.
The Sizes & Spacing global score proportion is a global setting that affects the entire score. As you can see the view of the entire score changes as you make changes to this setting. Here is another change to the highest setting of 12.
Now I'll set it back to the default setting of 6.
The note spacing affects the spacing between the notes. Here are some notes that I will edit the spacing on. Dragging the sliders to the left and right changes the space proportions of the notes. This time I'll change the Rhythmic proportions. Dragging the sliders to the left and right changes the rhythmic proportion of the notes. Now I'll set it back to somewhere around the middle.
The Chord diagrams group is used to set the size and location of chord diagrams in the score. The slider is used to set the size when the chords are at the beginning of the score. Now I'll change the size of the chords in the score. Now the chords are not shown in the beginning of the score.First I'll de select the Diagram list at beginning of score. Now I'll select to show the diagrams in the score and drag the slider to change the size. Now I'll choose to show the diagrams at the beginning and in the score.
Here you can choose a Jazz or Classical theme for your score. Here is what the Jazz them looks like. Now I'll change the theme back to Classical which is the default. There are plenty of options in just the Page & Score format tab. Once you are happy with the changes click on Save the style and then load it when you need it. Try making multiple custom stylesheets that you can load them whenever you need them.
