The Dirt & Vert Tour - Bike Touring and Mountain Running in the Eastern Sierra
In this episode of Mountain High Adventures on YouTube we take on the Dirt & Vert Tour. I designed a self supported bike tour through Owen’s Valley commuting between trailheads and campgrounds on my Poseidon Redwood Adventure Gravel Bike, and going for big mountain runs bagging peaks racking up the vertical gain. Riding dirt, climbing vert, touring around the sierras. This episode is Day 1 of the tour, a long 23 mile climb from Bishop, CA up to Southlake, gaining 5,500' of vert. Once I reached the trailhead at almost 10,000', I locked my bike up, put on my trail running vest and ran up the Bishop Pass and Chocolate Lakes Loop. Stunning views of the granite peaks up there in the High Sierra.
