Terms and concepts used:
Keel - the lower horizontal part, passing in the middle of the bottom of the ship from the bow to the stern end, and serves to ensure the strength of the ship's hull, its stability and seaworthiness.
Risen-keel is a keel consisting of several component parts.
This constructive solution was used on large ships and was associated with a shortage of wood.
Middel - from the netherl. middel, - "middle, middle" - the largest cross-sectional area of a body moving in water or air.
Fore - the bow end of the vessel.
Achter - aft end of the vessel.
Stemson - inner lining on the stern-post.
Falstem - inner fore-stem cover.
Cox - a metal rod for attaching various parts to each other.
Deadwood - "dead tree" - the stern and bow underwater part of the vessel at the junction of the keel with the stems.
