This week I had the great pleasure of being invited up to Sami people in the area of Tromsø up north in Norway. They wanted to show me some of their way of life, tradition and mindset, both spiritual and cultural. The symbiosis of Vikings and Sami in the north during the Viking is visible in the tales of Kveldulf Bjalfason, father of Skalla-Grímr and a great Icelandic clan, who was a great berserker/ulfhéðinn and shape-shifter. And many others who were half trolls, meaning related to Sami up north. Kveldulf's grandfather was Ulf the Brave, who also was the grandfather of Kjetil Høng (see last week's video). I personally enjoyed testing out the Pesk which was used as armour, which many Vikings became renowned for!
