"Sublunar" the second track from the first multitrack music demo by Ronnie Pontiac and Tamra Lucid (under the name Cat Cult) recorded a year or two after we stopped working for Manly Hall at the Philosophical Research Society, before we became involved in riot grrrl. Recorded on an 8 track 1/2 inch reel to reel in the same apartment where we first performed the Orphic hymns.
Tamra Lucid: bass.
Ronnie Pontiac: vocal, guitars, drums, percussion.
Recorded and mixed by Ronnie Pontiac.
Mastered by Dennis LaFollette.
Sublunar
Debbie says she's probably crazy
cuz all she can think about
are the identical refrigerators
in every claustrophobic house
Talon got a ticket
so he's fighting the helmet law
Gina won't tell anyone
the terrible thing she saw.
A man in a mall takes off his tie
another commercial implies a lie
a girl in a factory gets high
antennas cage skin-eating sky
Some search in churches
others pray in bars
is there a way to be free
under the sea of stars
2000 years of history
stuck on a freeway at dusk
kids by the side of the house
salting slugs in the hush
sidewalk shadows stream
I'm thinking about god
somewhere down the street
the barking of a dog
I never was what you made me
I never wanted to be
so i wasn't what you wanted
you never asked me
Some search in churches
others pray in bars
is there a way to be free
under the sea of stars?
