The Influence of Rome on Politics & Government
The founding fathers weren’t the only ones inspired by Rome of course, and the leaders of the French Revolution also idealized the Roman Republic. Both countries, as well as many others that have followed in their republican footsteps, borrow heavily from Rome for their symbolism and terminology of politics.
