How to create flashcut and hyperlapse photography
Step 1: Challenge yourself by taking photos of moving subjects at the same angle. Then quickly realize that these stunning photos by Hans Kemp you were inspired by took years to capture and you only have 5 minutes.
Step 2: Give up and take photos of inanimate objects instead, preferably photos of the same street signs.
Step 3: Stack one photo on top of another. Rotate, stretch, resize. This step can take 2 minutes to 5 hours depending on how much of a perfectionist you are.
Step 4: Duplicate the photos to make it look like you took more photos than you did because sometimes, walking outside in 40 degree weather is just not a vibe.
The McGhouglin brothers have a great piece called the New York Postcard on Instagram and that video is what inspired me to try this technique. Go check out their page for better examples!
