The video explains how to upgrade CubeMars AK80 AK70 AK60-6 AK10(T-motor) robotic actuator by replacing the original electronic brushless motor controller with the reliable MAB Robotics MD80.

The process allows you to get the maximum performance from the actuator. The MD80 has reliable communication - it can operate with up to 16 actuators without issues/faults, allows you to smooth control of the output shaft, and c++/python libraries and ROS/ROS2 drivers enable easy operation.

The MAB Robotics MD80 V2.0 is a high-performance brushless motor controller specifically designed to meet the needs of modern mobile robotics. It is designed to be user-friendly, with an intuitive interface making it easy to integrate it with almost any brushless motor of your choice. During the prototyping phase, the MD80 can work seamlessly with the CANdle device, providing a quick and easy way to test and refine your ideas. Once you're ready to move to production, the MD80 can be used as a standalone solution, with all the features and capabilities you need to take your project to the next level.

Furthermore, MD80 operates with output encoders, which expands possibilities in geared actuator applications. Output encoders play a crucial role in determining the position of the output shaft after start-up. This is because the motor encoder is not sufficient for this task, as the motor often rotates multiple times for a single output shaft rotation. Therefore, output encoders are needed to accurately track the position of the output shaft. MD80 controllers can support: RLS AksIM-2, MAB off axis, and axial encoders.
