Walnut Mantle Build Walkthrough
This video is a start to finish of how we build our Floating Mantles. It covers how to build a box frame out of any wood with basic tools. Mantle build includes mounting bracket used to attach to wall then the mantle sits on top and attached with screws. We finish our mantles with Odie’s oil all natural finish.
Materials used:
Compound miter saw
Drill
Pocket hole jig
Pocket hole screws
Hardwood dimensional lumber 4/4 lumber for mantle piece. In this we use Walnut but any good figured wood looks great and would take the same finish.
3 boards atleast 6
foot long and 5-6 inches wide
Construction grade 2x4 8ft~.
