There are 2 types of errors
Sampling Errors
Non Sampling Errors
1. SAMPLING ERROR
Difference between estimate from sample and true value
Sampling Error=𝑋 ̅−𝜇 (Sample Mean Age-True Value)
2. NON-SAMPLING ERROR
These are the errors not attributable to sampling but arise in data collection.
The source of such errors is
Sampling #Frame Defect.
Faulty reporting because of personal/biased preferences.
Human Errors
No Response (Partial or Total).
Partial non-response: Respondent refuses to answer few questions.
Total non-response: Respondent refuses to answer all questions.
How to Avoid Non-Sampling Errors
