Another Crab's Treasure's lategame stuff was wild- spoilers obviously, warning you now lmao. there's actually one more DVGM from this game coming a little later, but for now...
this is another song you only hear for like a minute, right before the final boss fight- it's only the second time in the entire game you're actually above water, and wow does the sound of this song really make me feel it. the super harsh, crackly, almost fizzy compression(??) of the instruments, and the way the seagull squawks are crushed and cranked to where they feel like they're almost clipping the audio, it honestly makes me feel like how I would imagine a tiny sea creature would feel after surfacing into open air. to go from the familiar, comforting embrace of water all around you to raw, crisp, dry air that almost feels like it tugs on your skin, the unfiltered light of the sun searing your sensitive eyes, unfamiliar sounds of wind and waves and birds, danger. idk how they did it but they managed to make those seagulls sound DAMN threatening just by cranking the gain until they're blowin out my speakers. it really makes me feel like prey
