Central African Republic: Traditional birth attendants save lives through a mobile application

In the Central African Republic, the most child births occur at home, with only the assistance of traditional birth attendants, also known as matrons.

Thanks to an app accessible on tablets, these matrons can now identify high-risk pregnancies among expectant mothers in their community and refer them to midwives at the nearest health center.

This project, known as 'Wakobo Ti Kodro,' aims to change the situation in a region that has one of the highest rates of infant and maternal mortality.
