I am going to share with you my strategy for getting ready for retirement right after this.
Good Morning and Welcome to Robinhood Dividends my names Andy and today we are going to talk about getting ready for retirement.

Do you have enough money set aside for retirement?
I have seen this method for savings in a bunch of different places.
Basically just braking down into age brackets a suggested amount of money you should have set aside for retirement.
By age 30: Have the equivalent of your annual salary saved. 24000
By age 35: Have twice your annual salary saved. 48000
By age 40: Have three times your annual salary saved. 72000
By age 45: Have four times your annual salary saved. 96000
By age 50: Have five times your annual salary saved. 120000
By age 55: Have six times your annual salary saved. 144000
By age 60: Have seven times your annual salary saved. 168000
By age 65: Have eight times your annual salary saved. 192000
For me personally I have my retire split up into a few different accounts and I plan to try investing in more things as time goes on.
TSP - $5768
Principal 401k - $4508
Robinhood - $3500
ESOP - $2,000
Prosper - $250
Total - $16,000
So basically to reach a years salary by 30 I need save another $8000 which would be about $500 a month.
At this point in my life that is doable. I am putting about half of that just into Robinhood at the moment.
I plan on doing these videos monthly to show you how things are coming along as I get closer to retirement.
