Question of the day: Does the environment where the barrel containing whiskey is stored make a difference to the final product?
@ingramwhiskey answers that question by adopting the 1811 old way where barrel use to be transported from Louisville to New Orléans over the river for months.
The journey of thise barrel through the river creates a way extreme temperature fluctuations (which we know is good for bourbon) but also forces the barrel to give us a new flavor that we may necessarily see in a traditional rickhouse.
OH INGRAM has a sourcing agreement with Green River Distillery, the barrels spend an average of 5 years on the river and in my opinion, have some distinctive spice levels in their bourbon that set it apart from the competition.
