013 DA3D Precision Model a Steel Stock Library for Blender 3's Asset Browser
This is the first video in the second Different Angle 3D practical project. This video looks at where you can source the standard dimensions for a range of off the shelf steel sections. It then moves on to show three of the common hollow section shapes can be modelled with precision.
The video highlights where expected sizes can be unexpectedly compromised with some of Blenders tools.
The video ends showing how the different sections can be appended into a new Blender file to make the creation of accurate steel fabrication models a quick and efficient process.
The second video in the project will look at a few more modelling techniques to create hot rolled steel sections and how the library can be used in Blender 3's Asset Browser.
