Little trip up to the Shenandoah beginning near to Charlottesville at the Afton Mountain entry. The leaves are beginning to turn nicely and the park was not super crowded as it was a Tuesday. Lots of yellow Witch Hazel in bloom and we hit a really nice Warbler congregation as we hiked up toward Blackrock Gap. We began our hike at the Riprap parking lot, staying on the Riprap Trail until we saw the sign for Blackrock Gap. We walked maybe a mile on that section until we hit the Warblers and then turned around as the trail is over 9 miles.
