A frazzled mother saves herself from domestic chaos by installing a Dixie Cup dispenser in the kitchen in this part-animated, part live-action ad from 1961. Her kids, including a boy who's a vocal ringer for John Wayne, can then help themselves to the sanitary, nonshattering cups, leaving mom free to deal with more important tasks.
The simplified style of animation (known as limited animation) seen in this and several other contemporary Dixie ads became popular in the industry in the late 1950s for first artistic and then cost-saving reasons.
