I take a quick look at the latest patch of Silent Hill 2. I am in no way qualified to talk about this, however this port, despite the high quality of the game is atrocious especially with that asking price, hence I am keeping a close eye on mods and potential patches to see if Bloober will alleviate the dreadful performance. I will not even touch the SteamDeck performance because its still atrocious.

TLDW:
Somethings have been fixed such as ghosting on leaves, the traversal stuttering is still bad, as is the overall framerate, this game needs FrameGen desperately to maintain any semblance of a decent framerate in starting areas. FrameGen can result in crashes.
SteamDeck starting area ran at sub 30FPS. On the absolute lowest settings, as I moved into the town it eventually went up to 40 ish.

Use the above mod if you are using an Nvidia GPU and want to use DLSS with AMD FrameGen.
