Over the years, Windows has been distributed on many kinds of physical installation media. Do you know your CDs from your DVDs? Or your 5.25 inch floppies from your 3.5 inch ones? And which versions of Windows shipped on which formats? Watch to find out...

With thanks to GlennMoller.com for the image of the Windows 1 floppy disks, ‪@MoooJvM‬ for the footage of the floppy disk and drive, Sony for the footage of their ad featuring floppy disks, ‪@themaritimegirl‬ for the screencap of the Windows 98 installation using floppies and Vulkin at BetaArchive for the image of the "Need CDs?" Windows Vista insert.

Corrections:
0:27 5.25 inch floppies could later hold up to 1.2MB of data.
0:55 3.5 inch floppies could originally hold 720KB, but very quickly (within around a year) 1.4MB became the de facto standard. Higher capacities did exist, but never became popular.
