In this video, I’m going to show you how you can fix the "Message Unavailable" issue on Instagram. If you want to learn how to solve this problem, just follow the steps I’ll show you.
As you can see, I’m currently on Instagram, and this is how the homepage looks. At the bottom, you’ll find all the main sections: Home, Search, Reels, and finally, your Profile section.
Now, let’s talk about why you might be seeing the “message unavailable” error. There are several common reasons for this:
The sender deleted the message after sending it.
You blocked the user or they blocked you, which hides messages.
The account was deleted or deactivated, making messages disappear.
The chat was in Vanish Mode, where messages automatically disappear after being seen.
You were removed from a group chat, so you no longer have access to the message.
Or, it could simply be an Instagram bug or glitch.
To start fixing the issue, first make sure that you have a strong internet connection. Sometimes, a weak or unstable connection can cause messages not to load properly. Switching to a better Wi-Fi or mobile network may resolve the issue.
If your internet is fine and you’re still facing the problem, head over to the Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iPhone). Tap on the search bar, type Instagram, and open the app page. If you see an Update button, that means you’re not using the latest version.
Tap Update and wait for the download to complete. Once it’s done, tap Open to relaunch Instagram. After updating, check if the “message unavailable” issue is fixed.
