In this video, I’m going to show you how to fix the issue of Instagram Live not working. If Instagram Live is not showing up, or if you're getting a message saying you're not eligible to go live, don’t worry—just follow the steps I’m about to show you.
As you can see, I’m currently on the Instagram app. This is the homepage. At the bottom, you’ll find several sections like Home, Search, Reels, Account, and in the center, there’s a plus (+) icon.
When you tap on the plus icon, you should see the option to go Live. If you don’t see that option—if Instagram Live is not showing up—it could be due to a weak internet connection or a glitch in the app.
So first, make sure you're connected to a strong and stable internet connection. Instagram Live not working is often caused by poor connectivity.
If the problem continues even with good internet, follow these steps:
Close the Instagram app completely.
Open your phone’s Settings.
Scroll down and tap on Apps or Applications.
Look for Instagram in the list and tap on it.
Scroll down and tap on Storage.
Tap Clear Cache to remove temporary files.
Now, reopen the Instagram app. In most cases, this should fix the issue of Instagram Live not working, or Live not showing up in the menu.
If you're still unable to go live and Instagram says you're not eligible, make sure your account meets the platform’s requirements—like having no recent violations and being in a supported region.
