In this video, I walk through how to take the IMF’s implied Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) data and combine it with market exchange rates to calculate the Price Level Index in Excel.

If you work in HR or compensation, this method helps you go beyond just cost of living or exchange rates to compare salaries across countries. With this approach, you can:

✔ Compare salaries in USD equivalents
✔ Spot which countries are more or less expensive than the US
✔ Model salaries in USD equivalents across different countries
