Some WordPress themes have built-in options for meta titles and descriptions, including our favorite #Divi. Still, #YoastSEO is our preferred for WordPress sites.
It allows you to assign metadata automatically. But more importantly, it functions as a guide for manual metadata optimization. It helps you get the length right. And it gives you hints based on your assigned keyphrases.

But don't underestimate its importance.
Again, your theme may have built in options for page titles and meta descriptions. You can also use other SEO plugins like #AllInOneSEO. And most content management systems like WiX and Weebly also have basic options for SEO metadata.
Whatever option you use will have its own quirks.
We choose Yoast because we know how it works and have been using it for years.
If your CMS doesn't have a way to optimize your content metadata, you probably shouldn't be using it in 2019. It really is that simple.
Metadata is a major piece of the #SEO puzzle. It's an #SEOFundamental. Never underestimate its importance.
