WinAutomation is a powerful automation tool that helps you automate any repetitive task on your computer.
In this tutorial, we will go through an overview of the Properties of a Process in WinAutomation. You can access the Properties of a process from the Console by right-clicking on a process and selecting the “Edit Process’s Properties” option or click on the “Properties” button on the ribbon.
Once the Properties of a process open, the General tab appears. Under the general tab, you can see the Name of the process, and you have the option to set a description of that particular process.
Right below, you are able to set your preferences for some particular options.
First, you can enable the “Automatic Logging”. With Automatic Logging enabled, the process will register on the log, every action’s execution one by one stating the exact date and time of the execution of each action. The “Use Secure Screen” option would cause the physical screen of the machine to turn blue during the execution, as a way of concealing it.
The “Encrypted & Password-Protected” option, when enabled, would prompt the user to enter a password in a dialogue box. Password protecting, prevents unauthorized access to automation, for viewing or editing the actions within them. Note that in case a Password Protected Process is imported into WinAutomation, the password will be required for the first execution.
The last option allows the user to set a maximum allowed running time, where the process will stop the execution at the set duration time. This will ensure that a process does not stall or take more time than expected to be completed.
