Ever Lead Me is an arrangement by Lane Johnson of the hymn, Lord, Accept Our True Devotion, written by Norman W. Smith (1833-1917), with new words by Michelle Smyth. This version is for two-part treble and piano.
In the last few months of her mother's serious illness, the lyricist, Michelle Smith, was grieving and in need of comfort. This hymn tune, which she had heard performed in the past, came to her mind and she sat down and penned new words to the melody. It is a gentle, pleading prayer, entreating the Lord to be with us as we go through the various challenges of our lives.
