Marketing Simplified:
One of the problems we all have as business owners is being overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed with problems, overwhelmed with money concerns, product, services, staff etc.

So the last thing we need is to be overwhelmed with learning all of this marketing stuff!

Every time a representative calls into your business or makes contact by phone they have yet another marketing strategy, channel, technique, etc. And guess what? ... They probably work!

But your problem is having time to learn all of this stuff on top of everything else you are responsible for, so lets simply this ...

What if I told you that you only have to focus on 2 things!

So let's get straight into this ... what is a business?

Well a great definition of a business is ...

A successful business gets paid to solve a specific problem for a specific audience.

So what problem are you solving?

Now before we move on you need to understand this question as it effects the whole of your business and will probably uncover other problems you may be having in your business.

What problem is your business solving ... let me give you an example of giving the right answer for your business.

I have a LinkedIn course that shows people how to use LinkedIn so what problem am I solving?

Well, I'm showing people who don't know how to use LinkedIn how to use it ... aren't I?

Actually, no.

The problem I'm actually solving is helping business owners connect with their target audience, other business owners if they are B2B. Or helping business owners connect with the right decision makers in different organisations using the LinkedIn platform.

As you can see these are 2 different problems solved by the one training course.

Now please understand that understanding the question is critical to your business. If you can't answer the question "what problem are you solving?" in your business how can you possibly write the correct copy and communicate to your target audience in a language that makes sense and resonates with them if you don't even know what their problem is?

You're not talking to your audience about their problems you're just telling them you have a great course on LinkedIn.

They don't care about your great course all they care about is their problem.

So having answered that question the next question is ... "who are you solving it for?"

Are they ...

Male?
Female?
Homeowners or tenants?
What's their income bracket?
Where do they live?

Now understand this, you need to know your exact target audience because there is a well known saying ...

When you are everything to everybody you are nothing

The more specific ... the more niche you are ... the better you can communicate with your target audience

And the third question you need to ask yourself is ... "How do you get paid?"

It is surprising how many businesses go out of business ... not for lack of sales but for lack of cash coming into the business ... your cash flow.

So now that we have answered those 3 questions let's look at the two things that count when it comes to online marketing.
