Gulkpegu Dungu is a community in Tamale that has been battling the problem of access to portable water for a while now. People of this community do not have access to portable drinking water. The only available source of water is a dam which, obviously just like other Ghanaian dams, is not clean.
Between 50-100 liters of water is needed by each person in a day, water is needed for our survival, women and girls must have access to clean, private sanitation facilities to manage menstruation and maternity in dignity and safety.
I, hereby, humbly ask the government, NGOs, assembly man, DCE and other organization's to come to our aid by getting us taps, mechanized wells and boreholes to aid us in our daily task. We will be very appreciable if you could get water lines running through the Dungu community. for, it is said, water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.
