A Journey Through the Wittgenstein Region 1928 | FILM TREASURES
A new film treasure showcases a particularly popular tourist destination in the Westphalia region: the Wittgenstein region. This region encompasses the towns of Bad Berleburg, Bad Laasphe, and the municipality of Erndtebrück, and was already a popular tourist destination in the 1920s.
In a film from 1928, filmmaker Hubert Schonger takes us into the Wittgenstein countryside and also shows the traditional Stünzelfest festival, which still exists today. The footage is among the oldest film recordings of the old Wittgenstein district, and only remnants have survived to this day. These remnants were reassembled in 2014, accompanied by commentary and music, and can now be seen in this film treasure!
