The USS Enterprise-E (NCC-1701-E) was launched from San Francisco Fleet Yards in 2372, following the destruction of the Enterprise-D. As a Sovereign-class vessel, it represented the next evolution of Starfleet design—faster, sleeker, and more heavily armed.
Under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the Enterprise-E played a pivotal role in defending Earth from the Borg in 2373, and later, thwarting a Romulan plot in Star Trek: Nemesis.
By 2379, the ship underwent a major refit, and many senior officers moved on, ushering in a new era of leadership aboard one of Starfleet’s most legendary vessels.
