The Excelsior-class is a powerful evolution of the original Constitution-class design, featuring a larger frame and heavier armaments. Introduced as the next generation of Federation starships, Excelsior-class vessels have played key roles in major events throughout the Star Trek universe.
The USS Enterprise-B succeeded the Enterprise-A, which was captained by James T. Kirk and first seen in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. The Enterprise-B made its debut in Star Trek: Generations, continuing the legacy of one of Starfleet’s most iconic names.
