On Friday morning, 16 students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic had the opportunity to experience four high-stress scenarios with help from the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) Air Ambulance. The four scenarios, which included two respiratory emergencies, a burn injury and a head injury, allowed students to experience what it’s like to unload a patient—in this case a modernized mannequin with a pulse and other vital signs — into an air ambulance.
