Item Shadowing Explained - Wireless item transfer - Vanilla Minecraft 1.12+
Item Shadowing, a crazy overpowered inventory bug that this game has been needing.
After all these years, our inventory is still terrible and unusable. Well here's the solution!
Works in Minecraft version 1.12-1.18+
Item Shadowing is when you have two instances of the same item in two different locations, it has never been done before in Minecraft, this is massive game-changing technology. It does it all:
wireless redstone
wireless item transfer
wireless mending
wireless player item trading
etc...
Plus it's all vanilla!!!
This was originally found by Fallen_Breath while we were looking for Item Dupes. We then worked together to simplify it down to simple contraptions and well-defined rules!

Notes:
Chests do not update comparators if you are using Lithium, using a hopper usually fixes this.
Hopper are usually more stable
