Microneedling with PRP is a newer treatment that is commonly known as a ‘Vampire Facial.’ The treatment works by inducing collagen and providing a gentle skin resurfacing which improves skin texture, pigmentation, tone and helps eliminate scars.
In the procedure, we begin by drawing your blood and spinning it down to obtain high concentrate platelet rich plasma which is the component of your blood that contains strong growth factors. While this is happening a clinical grade anesthetic cream is applied to your face to numb it. We then cleanse your face and use a microneedling device to make micropores throughout your skin that range in 1.5-2mm in depth. In these pores, PRP is infused providing a collagen induction that works over the course of the weeks following your treatment.
In general, you will want to avoid the sun for 1-3 days and likely will be red during this period. You can wear makeup as early as day 2 and will see results in just 3 days.
