Lady Trouble
From roughly 1250 BC, a series of increasingly violent military challenges against the polities of the Eastern Mediterranean were waged; culminating within a hundred years the complete annihilation of no fewer than three great civilizations: Mycenaean Greece, the Hittite Empire, and the Ugaritic Kingdom of Syria. Egypt was brutally savaged and never able to rise to its former glory. Even the Great Assyrian Empire had to scramble its armies to fight this new enemy.
I think these challenges came from a coalition of powers ultimately united under the brilliant leadership of the Minoans; who had been expelled from Crete 200 years before. I will now begin my case that the Minoans ultimately became the Romans. But along the way they were known to the Egyptians - and the world - as The Sea People. This video will be about the ideology that drove them hundreds of miles across the Mediterranean Sea and into the fang and claw of the world's great early civilizations.
I move from the DNA, and broad archaeological observations, of my older videos into a detailed focus on the Minoan migration to the Western Mediterranean. And I'm very happy what I've found. There's been such an "embarrassment of riches" that I've had to limit the topic to the monotheism that I will show dominated Minoan Crete. On that island it manifested as a "syzygy" made up of Mother Earth and Father Sky. Though divinities in their own right, they are ultimately two persons of the same Godhead; united by the Axis Mundi. So the Godhead of the Minoans - the world's first monotheists - had more in common with the Christian Trinity than the more austere monotheism of Islam and Judaism.
But then halfway through, I realize that a syzygy will always spontaneously form a trinity. I decided to leave that transition in the video because the alternative was to scrap the script and restart the whole process. But I also thought this was a great opportunity to let you see how seamlessly I can pivot my theories when new information comes in. Following up on that realization, I then show that the "Triad" of gods in the earliest strata of Roman religion is in fact a fully functional Trinity. I also show the concept of a trinity probably wasn't formalized until after the Minoan expulsion of 1450 BC. Although the idea was clearly "in the air."
And right as I finished pulling this video together, I came across a paper that dramatically strengthened several of my specific positions. So I worked it in. Again it's an excellent chance to show you how I work. Most especially, this paper proves to my own satisfaction that I have a good "feel" for this culture. And I hope you agree.
Connecting all these observations with the idea that we are Imago Dei - The Image of God - I show the Trinity is a strong model for the human psyche; relying most heavily on the theory and practice of C.G. Jung. I use many of own dreams to illustrate that. Most shockingly, these dreams betray a very detailed memory of my ancestor's lives. Which forces me to ask the question: Is Jung's "Collective Unconscious" really any different from a "racial memory" lurking within all of us? Is it possible we're constantly reacting to things we remember... but don't REMEMBER we remember? Could this be why I have such a great "feel" for these people?
Along the way I make some amazing connections. I prove the Minoans called themselves the Kapter. And note the spelling, because I also translate what the name means. And I prove it. So any time you see it spelled Captor or Caphtor, you will know they're spelling it wrong.
I find the "smoking gun" that marks the transition between Minoan monotheism and the later Greek polytheism. In writing!
I give my translation of the Minoan "Libation Formula." Other than the Phaistos Disc, this is the only Minoan writing that comes closest to being literature. The Formula clearly proves the Minoans are speaking an early form of Latin. My full survey of the Formula - and my case that Minoan priests invented the alphabet - will be on an upcoming video.
What is our connection with the Israelites? The mystery I've noticed in other videos deepens.
I also make another sudden switch; and make an amazing connection. In the beginning I voice my suspicion that they very word "syzygy" was originally a Minoan word. And when I was writing the finale, I suddenly realized how I could prove it!
I also make a very strong case that Minoan monotheism survived the 1450 BC expulsion in very surprising ways. And in more than one incarnation. And I'll even show the 17th century BC Phaistos Disc has something to say about one of the most vicious fights between the Christians of the Latin West and the Greek East.
I think this is the most satisfying video I've done so far. It's long and very "information dense," but I think those were both demanded by the topic I'm covering... and the seemingly crazy theories that I'm proposing.
