Grower turns to SALTRO® DUO for seedling blackleg control
Damien Schneider is a farmer from the New South Wales Riverina. He tried SALTRO® DUO for the first time in 2020.
SALTRO DUO is the only seed treatment available for control of three major canola seedling diseases, pythium, rhizoctonia and seedling blackleg.
In severe cases, blackleg can cause stem cankers starving the canopy of moisture and nutrients. Yield losses in such circumstances can be 50% or more.
Damien said conditions were ripe for the disease in 2020, with tall stubbles and wet weather causing a "perfect hideaway" for blackleg. With SALTRO DUO, Damien said there was no ill crop-effect. In fact he said it "all jumped up as clean as a whistle".
