Mary Louise Gunn Bult. Grandma Lou. Mother to ten, and my goodness she loved to sing and dance. She wanted to be a star, and her famous words were “Oh my stars and garters!” Her husband died from a heart attack on the beaches of Bear Lake, leaving 7 kids still living at home, forcing Mary Lou to go back and provide. And there wasn’t much money to go around. She learned an important lesson on self reliance, and that she had to be the one to make it happen. She taught her daughters that and learned, unfortunately through tragedy, that lives can be completely turned upside down whether you’re prepared or not. He was only 52. Your husband may be killing it financially, and your marriage may be the most wonderful marriage in all the land, but I would still encourage every woman to make something out of herself apart from being a mother and stay at home wife. Just because it is fulfilling, empowering and MAKES you a better mother and wife. #tragedy#loss#grit#grittymama#truegrit
