In this video, we'll dive into 'Boat Battery Care: 4 Essential Tips for Longevity.'

Maintaining your boat's battery is crucial for uninterrupted fun on the water. Whether you're an experienced boater or new to the game, these tips will keep your boat battery in top shape, ensuring a smooth and trouble-free ride.

In this video, we'll cover the four critical aspects of boat battery care:

1.) Charge Batteries to 100%: Keeping batteries at 100% is best for battery health and will ensure the maximum life out of the battery. All batteries will self-discharge at some rate, and keeping them fully charged is key.

2.) Remove, Inspect, and Clean Battery Connections: This is a great time to ensure all your battery connections are in tip-top shape. If any of your wire has corrosion build-up, hit it with a wire brush to clean it up.

3.) Remove Batteries for Storage: If your boat is stored where it will be below freezing, remove all of your batteries and keep them in a warm location. If your boat doesn't experience low temperatures, at a minimum, you should disconnect all wires from the battery to ensure nothing is drawing from the power.

4.) Keep Batteries Fully Charged: Every month or so, you should top off each battery to ensure it is fully charged. Another option would be to keep a trickle charger connected to ensure that the battery stays charged while not in use. Doing so will give you optimal battery life. This also means your batteries are ready as soon as you re-install them.
