Quick defrost an upright Freezer, with a hair dryer.
I am lazy about getting around to the freezer defrost chore, and often I have put pans of hot water in and closed the door, but that takes too long.
In this case, I realized if I could keep water off the hair dryer (heat gun) , it would speed up the defrost process. Tin(aluminum) foil to the rescue.
This defrost and clean up, took about an hour. Keep the door closed until near the end, then brace it open 1/2" for steam evacuation, and so it won't overheat the coils.
